    leaving on a jet plane

I'm at LAX... rushing back home to France... i found a cheap one way ticket on Air Tahiti... since BA wouldn't change my ticket, dang it !  Why the rush?  Well, Karen was hospitalized.  My gracious hosts at Twin Lakes Church let me out of my responsibilities this weekend.  (Thank you, Paul and Robin, for understanding!)  Please don't be alarmed. We have lived through similar life and death circumstances during the births of our other two boys.  We do appreciate your prayers as we welcome this third precious little being into the world...while protecting Karen's life in the joyful process.  I'll let you know how it all goes down...and of course there will be baby pictures!   Got a plane to catch...

follow-up NOTE on 28 January :  I made it home safe and sound.  I forgot to mention that driving back down from Santa Cruz (NorCal) to Pasadena (SoCal) -- 600 miles -- on 24 January, they closed-off Interstate 5 on the North side of the "Grapevine" because of snow, ice and wind.   A blizzard.  I thought I was going to miss my flight the next day.    Imagine me text-messaging from my car somewhere North of Los Angeles county in the middle of a blizzard to my pregnant wife in Paris who has just been hospitalized  because of complications to let her know that I might miss my flight....  I found an alternate route but the whole experience added some tense drama to my travels.

Here's a picture I snapped with my phone while driving through Mojave toward LA:  Desert snow.
