To eat "à la bonne franquette" is to share a simple meal with friends, without any fuss. Our church is preparing five such Friday evening meals. The first one was last night. It's an opportunity for members of our church family to invite their friends to check out our community and what it means to become Jesus' disciple. There were just over 50 of us. We ate well and enjoyed good conversation. Who do people say I am? (Mark 8.27) was our theme of discussion.
As part of the evenings presentation, we showed our Fêtons Paques video interviews. This video has been shown every Easter (in different places) since we first filmed it in 2004. It would seem that people still need to be informed as to why we celebrate Easter. It was good for me to remember that telling this good news to people who haven't heard it is my first vocation.
Jesus is risen and alive ! Happy Easter.
