scuba diving can be an act of worship. deep under the Mediterranean sea, i experience profound adoration for the One who separated the waters into one place and filled them with great sea creatures and every sort of fish.
you can see larger, higher resolution photos here, but you can't feel the salt water in your sinuses. looking at photos, you won't be as aware of your breath rate or the precious gift of life that you carry in your body. it was very good to disconnect from virtual reality (for almost a month) and to plunge into water that is really wet, salty and, at certain depths, cold... invigorating..
yes, i taught the bible, the wonders of the Creator, at a diving camp... but diving bodily into God's blue creation with deep gratitude was the most spiritually enriching thing that i did. if only my senses were always so alive to our Creator's presence....
