My pick for the OSCAR

My favorite of all the Oscar nominees is this short film shot in Southern Senegal:  Binta and the Great Idea.  You can download it on itunes.  Like a migrating bird, this charming story and the way that it's told takes the best of the global North and South.  Even a Tubab like me can appreciate the great idea.

In 15 years of ministry, I have now preached far more often in French than in English.  That's why it's a pleasure for me to post some audio for you in English.  The week before last (Feb 11), Faith Community Church, Santa Cruz asked me to participate in their teaching series called Behold the Man, defining moments in the life of Christ as described in Luke's Gospel.  It was an honor for me to work with my good friend Andy Lewis.  FCC is doing some phenomenal work in downtown Santa Cruz.   Listen to a few of these messages.  Mine is titled "Adoration" and explores  Luke 7.36-50, the story of The Conservative, the Lost, and the Radical.  The series is also podcast on itunes.
