Our boys were happy to be reunited with their French cousins. In the picture above they are arranged according to age from left to right. Thomas, to the far left, was born while we were in California. He is Karen's brother's first son. Our Michael is the next youngest but is adamant about being BIG, generally refusing to let anyone do anything for him. Axel, Karen's sister's younger son, is right in the middle and not sure if his place is with the two younger ones or the two older ones. Maxime (Axel's big brother) and Samuel (Michael's big brother) have no doubt that they belong en tête du groupe. They all love to play together as boys do.
Interestingly, if you follow the eyes in the photo, you'll notice that each boy is looking at his parents. The two boys looking directly at the camera are mine.
In late February or early March, if all goes well, we will add another little face to the picture. Karen is four months pregnant (Yes, you guessed it: conceived in California). This Monday the sonogram should reveal if it's another boy or the very first girl cousin on Karen's side of the family. That secret too will be revealed in due time. The name, as always, we will keep to ourselves and before God in prayer until the day I hold this precious little being in my arms.
I of course have much more to say about le Retour en France. I will begin blogging again to the rhythm of one post per week, Friday mornings before 10am Paris time. It may be that I'm pregnant too, metaphorically that is. I have to keep that secret until I know for sure.
Let me reassure you that life continues even when the blog stops. We are alive and grateful for the Life that God gives us in Jesus. I will soon be the father of three God-given children! There is something about that thought that makes me aware of the breath in my lungs. I feel God's breath in my lungs.
