Into Africa

As I mentionned in our most recent update letter, I'm leaving for West Africa next Tuesday, 20 May.  I'll be traveling to the Ivory Coast with Paul Spurlock of Twin Lakes Church and Scott Smithson of Faith Community Church.  Our hosts are Rod and Angelika Ragsdale.  I'll do my best to blog while we're in Africa, but I'm not sure what kind of Internet acess we'll have...  I'll try to post a picture of Scott, Paul and I on Monday before we leave so that you can all remember to pray for us as we go.

Brad and Donna Franklin

I just picked-up Brad and Donna Franklin at CDG airport.  The Franklins are on a world tour visiting the different ministries that Lakeside Church supports.   The picture was taken at the first stop with their daughter, Bethany.  Bethany is serving as a short-termer in Costa Rica.  From Central America, the Franklins flew South to meet our WorldVenture colleagues, the Motas, in Brazil.  They then hoped across to Mozambique, Africa, to hang out with the Schmidts.  The Schmidts, also WV friends, modeled their internship ministry after OIKOS (plus, they can sell eggs to support their interns! How cool is that!).  Today, Brad and Donna made the long flight North from Jo-berg, South Africa, to Paris by way of Dubai.   Needless to say, they are very tired. They're now resting in the OIKOS apartment until dinner.
